Work Injury to Hands, Shoulders and Arms

I was injured in April of 1999 and my life has been hell every since. I finally got mad enough and purchased a book that really helped clear up a lot of the law for me. I took my carrier to court in march of 2000 and won a $10,000 settlement for them under paying me and 4 penalties. Kemper denied my claim for 14 months and I had to go on SSDI.

I was sent to their orthopedic surgeon and he verified through tests what my orthopedic surgeon said. I then was sent to a QME in May of 2000 which verified what the other two doctors had found. I did have a nerve condition test done in Nov 1999 which showed that I did have carpel tunnel syndrome and various other aliments that had to do with my arms and hands. To date I have had 5 surgeries and hopefully one more will set me free from this w/c system.

I have had horrible adjusters who tried to deny prescriptions that my surgeon had ordered and lied to one doctor and said my surgeon had released me for light duty and was calling to get his release. I called her supervisor and told her this was unethical. I fully expect to go to court with Kemper.

The only good thing I can say is that I do have 2 great doctors and I feel that I am getting excellent care. Since finding my book and doing my own homework and becoming proactive in my own case I have helped a lot of people who are tired of fighting for every cent and medical care that they need. I feel beat down but will continue to fight for my rights.

I am glad that I found this web site. Some of the stories sound like I could of written them from my own experience on this hellish nightmare that I have been on since 1999.
