My story began in may of 2001, when I was injured at work. I filled out an accident report and then the nightmare began. I was then told to go to the hospital because there insurance had a waiting period. On the third day I recieved a phone call sending me to a special Dr. I hurt my shoulder, neck area.
I was diagnosed at the hospital with a shoulder sprain. I saw there Dr. he said I had a impingement in my shoulder that's why i was so swollen in my neck, shoulder and hand was swollen. He gave me meds. About a week later I called the swelling didn't go down at all it got worse, pain was unbelievable and the Dr. said Ill give you more meds. I said NO.
I called my reprehensive at that time from liberty mutual and demanded a second opinion...and she said YES. I went to see another DR.totally different diagnosis, now I have a cervial sprain impigment in shoulder, possible rotor cuff and ordered a MRI and EMG. Changed my meds also. But unfortunately I'm allergic to about 10 pain killers.
They approved my tests real fast.went back to the new Dr. and he said I have cervial radioculpathy, bursitis and tendonitis in my arm and c4/5 are budging...well that's the last time I saw he I was pulled from seeing him again. Then they said me to another Dr. spine specialist, he said my disks are only budging i can live with it , its not an issue. then they sent me to pain mgmt I had 2 epidurals cervical, about 15 trigger point injections until, The pain management Dr, read The EMG report and it stated I have Thoracic outlet syndrome....there is my problem he said and referred me to a vascular surgeon.
So I went then to a vascular surgeon have tos he said workers comp finally agreed on something. Then then sent me for another opinion toback to the spine dr. again...He said The neck is not a issue still its not operable. Then they sent me to a neurolgist .Which blew everything out of the water and sid I have RSD. Well,,then they sent me to a differnt pain managemnt dr. who said i didnt have rsd......
Where does this end..........
I had surgery on November, 2001 for thoracic outlet syndrome and still healing .I have now developed sympton of thoracic outlet syndrome on the opther side. and they wont pay they stopped my checks, sending me for opinion after opion..there dr's ofcourse that are about 1 hour away..what a mess...
Now im awaiting a tie-breaker decision if they will pay for my right side..if anyone can help me find some hard evidence that tos can lead to the other side from the initial injury..i would appreciate it....this is a nightmare, right before Christmas.
